Description

This Greater Sulphur-crested Cockatoo (Cacatua galerita galerita) was wild and probably a male. These birds are common throughout Southeastern Australia and usually form large groups. Whenever the flock is on the ground, there is usually at least one cockatoo up a tree, looking out for predators.
Conservation status: Least Concern.

Whose a pretty boy then!? Nice capture! I particularly like the lovely bokeh in this image Your composition is also strong as a lot of amateur photographers tend to place their animal subjects in centre frame. Intentional or not, the white feathers of the bird contrast nicely against the dark green backdrop. To capture the bird with it's head in side profile is good because it accentuates its flambuoyant yellow head plummage! The only improvement I could think for this image is if the bird was to turn with its front facing you. But then again. that's not up to you....unless you weren't patient enough to wait for him to pose more nicely
